Daffodil Day/ Tacos Night

T'was a beautiful day filled with love and happiness, flowers and an awesome pen for my dearest because, "I remember last year i bought their pens and they were sooo smooth..." Ahhh... Too Cute

Well actually, Daffodil day was on Friday and had a "date night" planned beforehand on Thursday night. Sweetest guy on the planet knew I was prepping for Daffodil day at work... fitting since cancer does strike older people more than any other age group so he decided to suprise me with some Daffodils *aahhhhhh*. My heart melted since I'm a hopeless romantic that loves cutsie made-for-movies type of shit like that.

We (mostly I,) made the best tacos from chicken and pork mince, corn and pumpkin (because I loveeee my carbs) and tried to go a lil healthy so made a fruit salad. Now mind you I'm used to cooking for more than 4 people so the servings were quiet large and after 2 (or maybe 5?) glasses of wine during the week I dont remember how or when I passed out from a food comma...

I think we enjoy our food a lil too much... hopefully in the near future we actually start healthy eating/ exercise routine or I see us being a morbidly obese couple. Yes, there is something wrong with that unless its due to medical reasons ie cancer treatment medications.

Speaking of Cancer research, I am glad to say my work raised a whooping $7000 on the day which is huge for us all going to cancer research. Pat on the back Mimz.

"We should all be feminists - Chimamanda Ngozi

Before you decide she's some pot-smoking, man-hating, traumatised african woman, watch the video I've linked below and you'll understand her trail of thought.
Chimamanda is a Nigerian  writer.  She has been called "the most prominent" of a "procession of critically acclaimed young anglophone authors [that] is succeeding in attracting a new generation of readers to African Literature. I've personally read two of her novels ( Purple Hibiscus and The Thing Around Your Neck) which I extremely recommend to anyone that enjoys literature in general.

In the video below she really challenges the african mentality in a way that noone has done in a very long time. Instead of using hate filled words she tries a new approach which is refreshing.
WE MAKE THE CULTURE SO WHY NOT CHANGE IT?
I really look up to the way she's challenging the ancient way of thinking for most African people.
Still to this day (mind you with my feminist mind ) I find it wierd when my boyfriend does the dishes or the laundry because I was accustomed to the rule "the woman does all the homely work". But why?
AIM TO BE SUCCESSFUL BUT NOT TOO SUCCESSFUL OR ELSE YOU WILL THREATEN THE MAN - well I'm sure I would never find a man who sees me as a threat attractive anyway.

TAKE ME BACK TUESDAY!

I had the most fabulous birthday this year, spoilt rotten by amazing friends and family not for a day but for a week. I'm so lucky to have them in my life

For people's privacy I will not be naming names and will try to not share TMI but guaranteed to dish out the best bits hahaha

Below are some of the most amazing moments I shared with friends and family 2 weeks ago.
Due to my torn ligament, I had to ride down from Mt Kusciosco. Not complaining just look at the beautiful snow...

Amazing hot chocolate that I enjoyed on my birthday from the highest point in Australia at Eagle's Nest Restaurant in Thredbo <3

Absolutely stunning

Lovely views I enjoyed on July 15th...

Me and my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

Testing 1, 2.

Hello There!
Today I had an interesting thought in my head. I wonder what it would be like to make a blog about myself and post it up on some blog site...

So here goes.
I am a Zimbabwean girl, born and bred. Living in Sydney and enjoying life.
My interests are fitness, food, traveling and new adventures.
I keep myself busy studying and working pretty darn hard.
Keep posted and you may find this new thing interesting :)

Much love, God Bless.
